Working for a DH World Cup team is great, and it definitely comes with some perks! At the beginning of March i took a trip out to Portugal with the team to take part in a National race out there. A weekend that was full of laughs, hard work, beautiful sunshine and more laughs.
A lot of big name World Cup riders were out there with their teams to get in some final bits of testing and practise before the World Cup and National races kicked off. For us at FMD it was a great opportunity to see where we were with our new bikes and also to see how the winter training had paid off. Kaos and Joe Parfitt have just taken the leap into the Junior category so it was good to see how they would fair in their new category. Both looked super swift on the new bikes and went all out when it came to race day. Kaos was super stoked with the TR500 in the dust and didn’t stop smiling all weekend. Joe needed a few tweaks to the bike after Friday practice but when saturday came he was looking real happy with the set-up and made some big progress ready for Sunday.

Was a real proud moment seeing Kaos come down in 2nd, just 1 second behind Charlie Hatton (a second year Junior) and Joe down in 4th. Really looking forward to working with these two shredders throughout the season, both are so polite and thankful but most of all a load of fun to work with.
A massive thanks goes out to Matt (The Bicycle Service) for his guidance through last year, it made going away for this trip a lot more comfortable and filled me with confidence for the future. He’s a pristine mechanic that i can always learn from.
Also to Tony the team manager for his constant support, and for seeing potential in my work. Really excited for the World Cups to kick off now. Keep an eye out for my Tour Diary blog posts to keep up to date with what’s going on with the team.
