Our basic service will ensure your bike is running safely and efficiently, including:
- Your bike is given a thorough check of all components to ensure it is safe to ride, we will check:
– Braking Surfaces
– Cassette & Chain Wear
– Bearing Play
– Frame & Fork Condition
– Spoke Tension
– Tyre Condition
– Bolt Check
- Any adjustments required to make your bike safe will then be completed and a no obligation list of recommend work to keep your bike operating smoothly will be provided and discussed with you
Entry Level – 45 mins

Smooth Operator
Designed for bikes used regularly, this service ensures your bike is clean, lubricated and running smoothly:
Full bike check as described in the occasional service
- Bike is cleaned in our wash bay
- Gears reset and indexed for smooth shifting
- Trueing (straightening) of wheels and spoke tension check
- Replacement parts fitted (cost of replacement parts not included)
Commute Cruisers – 1 hour

The Enthusiast
This service ensures your bike is deep cleaned, degreased and in best condition:
Bike is deep cleaned including a drivetrain degrease
Precision tuning for speed and efficiency
- Headset checked for wear and if necessary cleaned and fresh grease applied
- Gears reset and indexed for smooth shifting
- New cables are fitted if required
- Drivetrain is lubricated
- Hydraulic brakes bled to remove air/contaminated fluid, if required
- Brake pads aligned and callipers adjusted correctly
- Trueing (straightening) of wheels and spoke tension check
- Replacement parts fitted (cost of replacement parts not included)
Performance – 1 1/2 hours

Seriously Silky
A deep clean & thorough overhaul of your bikes components:
- The Enthusiast service with the addition of:
- Drivetrain components removed & degreased in the parts washer
- Brakes pads removed, callipers cleaned & pistons lubricated and then a full brake bleed. Rim brake callipers are fully stripped down, serviced and rebuilt
- Bottom Bracket removed for inspection, threads cleaned and then refitted with fresh grease (replaced if required)
- Wheel hubs serviced
- Replacement parts fitted (cost of replacement parts not included)
Premium – 2 1/2 hours

The Strip Down
A full strip down & rebuild of your bikes components:
The Seriously Silk service with the addition of:
- Bike is stripped back to bare frame and thoroughly cleaned
- All frame bolts are removed, cleaned and refitted with fresh grease to the correct torque
- All frame bearings are assessed for wear, replaced if necessary and refitted with fresh grease
- New cables fitted (this service includes cost of cables)
- Replacement parts fitted (cost of replacement parts not included except cables)

What We Do
At Silk, we work on a first-come, first-served basis, treating every bike with equal priority, so we don’t book repairs for a specific date. You can book a drop-off day or collection, and once your bike arrives it’s added to our queue. You’ll receive a quote as soon as possible.
Our typical turnaround is within 14 business days. Quality work takes time, and we pride ourselves on meticulous standards for every bike that comes through the shop. We know being without your bike can be inconvenient, so we offer a range of loan bikes for you to use while yours is with us.
01 BOOKING
Use the booking form to arrange a time to drop-off your bike. When you pop in to the shop we will give the bike a quick look over and discuss your needs and budget.
02 QUOTE
We will asses the condition of your bike and provide you with a FREE no obligation safety quote based on the work we recommend to get your bike running smooth as silk.
03 SERVICE
Once you give us the go ahead, the requested work will then be carried out by one of our qualified technicians and any new parts will be fitted.
04 COLLECTION
When your bike is ready to be collected we will give you a call and remind you to pop back in 4 – 6 weeks for your FREE tune up.
